Since 2022, I’ve collaborated with NTEN to deliver a course on nonprofit communications fundamentals; a live virtual event offered each spring and winter. Earlier this year, NTEN asked if I would like to adapt my course to their new online self-paced format. I jumped at the opportunity, we recorded the course videos in the summer, and the new self-paced version of the communications fundamentals course is now available!

Communications fundamentals course: what to expect

The course is now comprised of six short videos (roughly 10-15 minutes each) covering the following topics:

  • Strategic alignment
  • Brand messaging
  • Website content
  • Storytelling

There are reflections within each video to help you explore the topics and consider their possible implications for your work. I’ve also created a self-paced activity that works with the reflections so you can finish the course with an action plan specific to your nonprofit organization.

The new online self-paced format means you can now complete the course when it’s convenient for you, with more time to reflect and apply the concepts. The new price is $60 USD for NTEN members and $120 USD for non-members, and NTEN has also given me a 20% discount code for my readers.

If you’ve been interested in taking this course but the timing, format or price have never quite worked, I hope you’ll check out this new option.
