As I prepare to launch this blog, I figure a little context is in order. If you want to know more about me, there’s a page on this site with my story. If you want to know about my two seemingly distinct (but actually very complementary) lines of business – yoga and communications – those are covered too.

Now, why did I start this blog? I have eight years of communications experience in the nonprofit sector. During six of those years I managed and hired copywriters. I’ve spent the last two generating content and creative solutions for all kinds of nonprofits myself. It’s time to share some of what I’ve learned with you.

So, this blog will focus on writing, messaging and the creative process. I will share practical tips and tricks and plenty of marketing communications insights. I’ll cover specific projects like speeches, annual reports and websites. Bigger picture areas like branding, marketing and social media. Health communications too. If it fits, perhaps you’ll even see yoga creep in from time to time.

Let’s get flowing.
