About moflow
I help nonprofit leaders turn organizational strategy into clear messaging and compelling content — so your communications actively drive your mission forward.
Meet Marlene
I’ve been working in the nonprofit sector since 1999, starting in a grassroots role running a local branch of a large nonprofit organization where I wore every hat, including fundraising, programs, marketing communications, events, volunteer development, and governance.
Next, I spent six years managing the national communications portfolio for the same health charity, covering everything from public relations and brand management to behaviour change campaigns and internal communications.
When I launched moflow in 2008, I saw a common challenge across nonprofits: communications and content that were scattered or disconnected from strategy. My focus since then has been clear: help nonprofits bring their strategy to life through messaging, content, and storytelling that truly flow.
My approach
I offer my expertise and perspective as an external advisor, but I get up to speed quickly to work as an extension of your team.
Consultative
I value your knowledge and insights and will leverage them in our work together. Many clients say the discovery phase of our projects adds value beyond our specific project.
Strategic
I connect your communications to organizational strategy, ensuring your messaging and content support the bigger picture.
Practical
I don’t just hand over recommendations. I also write the content that brings your strategy to life.
What this means for you
Working with me means your nonprofit’s communications won’t just look and sound good; they’ll work harder for your mission. You’ll gain:
- Clarity in your messaging
- Content that reflects your strategy
- Stories that resonate and inspire action
